Hi, I would say the Note 8 more versatile than the OP3. The OP3 has the best hardware at its price, but other than that it is quite mediocre. The Note 8 has the best screen and battery. Hardware and camera are about equal to the OP3 for most purposes. The Note 8 has Huawei UI which is less complicated than the Samsung UI but has a few more apps than the OxygenOS.
